Sweetboy has been testing out his new smoker. The one he built/welded from an old metal grain container over the last 6-9 months every Saturday morning. The last couple of weekends he has been BBQing, testing how it holds heat, using the vents he built in, etc. Doug, Ann-Marie (lovely neighbors), Rico (my hysterical brother) and I have been benefiting from all of the porky goodness. It's been tasty and bad for our waistlines all at the same time. The boys have been consuming copious amounts of Pacifico. The beer part is clearly evident if you read Sweetboy's smoker log.
1st entry: 12:00 - temp 258 degrees
4th entry: 2:00 - beer is good - temp 240 degrees
8th entry: 5:30 - drunk. fellows being silly. sweetgirl put a bandaid on my finger. meat is good. what a good time for all!
He only has one rack in there so far (he'll be adding the other this weekend) but it's huge and held 4 8lb pork butts (for pulled pork), 2 racks of ribs and various rib country steaks (or whatever they're called). He also makes his own tasty BBQ sauce which we will bottle and sell one of these days...
Anyhoo - are you drooling yet? It looks so delicious and saucy and super fantastic that I want to lick my monitor...hmmmm...porky spectacular...
